Ventnor Town Council - Town Plan
THE TOWN PLAN FOR VENTNOR, BONCHURCH AND ST LAWRENCE 2008-2012
Commissioned by Ventnor Partnership in July 2007, Consultation for our Town Plan began with a questionnaire placed in the South Wight Chronicle, Ventnor Blog, the Library and targeted households. It was given also to High Street shoppers and local businesses.
This was followed up with a series of public workshops, projects involving our school children and our youth as well as specific interest groups in the town.
As a result of engaging with our residents, we have evidence of different parts of our community joining up to solve common problems such as the beach and rock pool education activities (which has supported the Blue Flag application). Other projects that have brought people together are:- Ventbag, Disability Accessibility Auditing, Public Realm improvements, and the planning of a health and fitness centre, to name but a few. As a result several new projects have emerged involving our community.

The Action Plan is designed to feed into the Island Plan and it will support the Eco-Island Strategy
