Ventnor Town Council - The Winter Gardens
Built in the Art Deco style in 1936, the Winter Gardens was the premier entertainment centre of the area. It hosted seaside shows, tea dances, talent contests etc, all popular in that era.
Today, it has changed its emphasis to be the Ventnor community entertainment and meeting place with a whole variety of different activities and events on offer.
A charitable organisation, The Friends of the Ventnor Winter Gardens has been formed to work with the Ventnor Town Council in managing and promoting the venue, and creating a centre of musical and entertainment excellence.
Look out in the Local and Island papers, IOW radio etc for news of forthcoming events such as markets, pantomimes, jazz and rock concerts, comedy clubs, art film showings, and much more, or check out the events list at www.ventnorwintergardens.co.uk .
Alternatively, you could come and relax in the restaurant and bar, and take in one of the best sea views in the island.
